$1.3 million to Stop Accidents that Never Happened

$1.3 million has been spent re-aligning roads around Parliament House in Canberra to prevent accidents that never happened, while at the same time security staff were being laid off to cut costs.
Liberal Senator Michael Ronaldson quizzed Government officials on how many accidents had occurred previously on the roads, but the Department couldn’t identify a single one. “So $1.3m has been spent fixing a problem which never existed!” Senator Ronaldson said.
