Labor Spends $2 Million to Cut Travel Costs

Taxpayers have been slugged almost $2 million in consultancy fees as the Government looks for ways to save money on travel.

Two separate consultants were hired – one for $1.4 million and the other for almost half a million dollars to do scoping studies on how to meet Finance Minister Lindsay Tanner’s goal of saving $26 million on travel.

But didn’t Lindsay Tanner also promise to save money on consultants?
