Pink Batts Debacle Keeps Getting Worse
Thursday, 11 March, 2010
240,000 dodgy installations, up to 1,000 electrifi ed roofs, 93 housefi res, 4 deaths.

Labor’s multi-billion dollar pink batts scheme has become one of the worst examples of waste and mismanagement in Australian history. Not only did Minister Peter Garrett waste $200 million by setting the rebate too high, but up to $50 million will be spent auditing dodgy installations and $41 million supporting workers after the program failed. And now the program’s new manager, Greg Combet, has requested a full investigation by the Auditor-General, which the Coalition called for months ago.

If Labor can’t manage a pink batts giveaway, how can they be trusted with health and education?
