The Rudd Labor government has spent an estimated $1.5 million on travel and accomodation to send a massive delegation to the failed Copenhagen Climate Change conference, according to Nine News (8 Jan 2010).
68 delegates sponsored directly by the Federal Government spent $541,271 on airfares, 53 of whom were entitled to business-class travel. $244,848 was spent on hotel accommodation and $156,738 on meals and travel allowances. Other charges brought the bill to $1,429,707, not including State Government sponsored delegates who were also part of the touring party.
